Classic Mexican Woodcut Woman Delivering Bread to Men
I have to confess, I don't remember where or when I found this exquisite woodcut. I loved the pathos infused image with the dog begging while all the men looked at the woman delivering the bread. The boy behind her carries a basket of fruit while under one arch, a beggar woman receives a contribution from another woman.
Underneath the bench, the initials LM are subtly peeking to the left of the of the men's bare feet. I know nothing more of the artist, alas!
Framed beautifully with flax colored textured matting, in a black frame with wood showing at the edges. Ready to be hung on your dining room wall! Puuuurfect condition!
The actual woodcut is 4 3/4” X 4 3/4”. The beige paper is 6 3/4” X 6 3/4”. The textured linen matting is 2 1/4”. The black frame is 13 1/4” by 13 1/4”.
